One of the most spectacular and historical attractions of Hormuz Island is the Portuguese Castle , which is located in the northernmost part of the island. In the past, the castle was known as the headquarters of the Portuguese Navy in the Persian Gulf. In this case, there is a guard tower, a church, a prison, a dungeon, a water tank, a lecture hall, and a barracks. It may be interesting to know that the clock belonging to this castle, along with the church bell, has been installed in Naghsh Jahan Square in Isfahan. At the entrance of the castle there is a bazaar that sells handicrafts of this area. In this bazaar, you can buy needlework, women's masks and paintings on glass, which are the works of women artists on the island.

 

2. Meditation Cave, Silence Valley of the Turquoise Salt Goddess:


The Valley of Silence is another wonder of Hormoz Island. The valley has salt crystals and beautiful domes where walking can be amazing. The turquoise goddess is a salt dome that is polished by rainwater and rises very beautifully.

The bottom of the valley is a seasonal salt flat. The river, which is golden and orange in color, has a very high salt content, so if you dip your hand in the river water, the skin of your hand will be stretched and a thin layer of salt will be stamped on your hand.

The meditation cave, located west of the island, is also very attractive to tourists. Of course, the path to this cave is relatively difficult and requires extra clothing, gloves, helmets and lighting equipment. It should be noted that part of this cave should be bustling. If you are looking for excitement, this cave can make your trip more exciting and attractive.

 

3. Hormoz earthen carpet:

Just a short distance from the Valley of Silence, or a very large beach, where the colorful carpet of Hormoz Island is spread. The festival, which is often held on the occasion of Nowruz or Persian Gulf Day, is often held in the second half of the year and in Ardibshaht. The natives of the island spread this carpet with colorful soils on the island. The designs used to create the rugs are all elements and myths of Hormozgan, Khayyam's poems, the image of the eagle's snout turtle, Jabir, women's clothing motifs and the symbol of local music and local instruments that create a very beautiful design. Unfortunately, after a while, the rain washes away the roles of this carpet and takes the colors to the sea. Of course, some environmentalists oppose the move, saying the protection of the island's soil is a major step in boosting the region's tourism industry.

 

 

4. Rainbow Valley:


Hormoz Island is the most beautiful and well-known attraction. This beautiful valley is built with more than 70 color spectrums. So that the variety of different rocks and minerals that have been stacked on top of each other in different layers and have created a very beautiful and spectacular view.

The yellow, red, silver, and black spectra have mostly clay compounds and iron oxides. The white, blue, and pink soils are the result of volcanic compounds that together have created another beautiful landscape.

 

5. Sculptures:

This is one of the places where you can easily imagine and free your imagination to imagine images such as dragons, roosters, eagles and sparrows in your mind using the huge statues that exist. You will walk about half an hour from the road to the beginning of the valley, and after reaching it, you can see many stone buildings with amazing shapes. Of course, it depends on which side you look at these statues. Going a little further, the path will be narrower and suddenly you will reach the back of the precipice at a height of 40 meters above sea level, which will dazzle your eyes with a beautiful view of the turquoise waters. This part is right in front of the Strait of Hormuz and the confluence of the Persian Gulf with the Oman Sea and the world's open waters.

Hormoz Island, due to its location in the coastal area, has sandy beaches with suitable depth that provides the conditions for swimming. Water sports such as swimming and diving on Hormoz Island are very popular. Although the beaches of Lark Island are one of the most attractive diving sites in the region, on Hormoz Island, the existence of a diving school during all seasons and even in summer provides training conditions for those interested in the sport.
